The walls of the Pittsburg Creative Arts Building were rocking as the Mix 2k6 made its second annual appearance in Pittsburg. A host of local bands and artists treated the crowd to an array of different music styles and genres including Rock, Rap and Hip-Hop.
Local band Razero was the first rock band to perform and got the walls shaking as they performed a number of songs that mixed the styles of rock and heavy metal all into one to create a rowdy atmosphere that left the crowd wanting more.
Fresh off their appearance on MTV, Vallejo artists Indecent and Krypto appeared and got the crowd waving their arms in unison. The crowd went wild when the artists emerged on stage and began throwing free t- shirts into the adoring crowd.
Pittsburg High School’s very own 3pm performed despite the fact their lead singer was hampered by the effects of a cold. Nonetheless, the quintet of rockers serenaded the crowd with a kind of music that was much less heavy, but still featured the heavy styles of their musical counterparts Raziero.
Intermixed between musical performances the crowd was entertained by a duo of award winning All Star Dance Teams, the Bay Reppin?and the Little Bay Reppin?. Together they redefined Hip-Hop dancing.
The concert also featured appearances from local artists and bands such as Choze, Shauny-B, Kennedy & Go Hard, Jungle Rock, and Toy Robots.
The New Mecca Café, a local recording label called The Circuit, and CAB concerts, presented the Mix2k6. All proceeds will go toward the ongoing efforts to restore the Pittsburg Creative Arts Building.
The crowd was pleased with the variety and style of the low cost entertainment while helping support a good cause. “It was fun. I liked the performances, they were good. I like supporting the Creative Arts Building because I act in this theater,” said performer and attendee Kiana Ashley.
