On Saturday, March 15, several owners brought their pets to the Pittsburg Marina to participate in the fourth annual Easter Pet Parade. This event was brought back from the early 1950’s and decades later, it still holds a high significance in our city.
There were dogs, cats, birds, hamsters, rabbits, and even turtles competing to win awards!
All of the participants had high hopes of winning the biggest, smallest, and best look-alike categories. Many of the contestants even dressed their furry little friends in cute outfits and costumes for the special occasion.
There was no doubt in anyone’s mind that judges would face a difficult time judging the winners in each of the categories.
After all the pets and owners strutted their stuff down the red carpet one last time, judges finally made their decisions.
Smallest: 1st: #10 hamster, 2nd #24 turtle, and 3rd #3 Smokey the Chihuahua
Best Look Alike: 1st #38, 2nd #37, and 3rd #2
Best Overall: #15
